Tok is a major intersection with all the roads to Alaska passing through. We drove through here on our way north and did laundry and grocery shopping. On the way south, we stopped and stayed for a couple of days. I dropped my fly to it, and picked it right up. A beautiful Grayling.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/barneymc.com\/?attachment_id=484'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/barneymc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/TK-MineralLake-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-484\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-484'>\n\t\t\t\tThe next day I hiked out to Mineral Lake, a whole 1\/2 mile. Here the Little Tok comes out of the lake.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/barneymc.com\/?attachment_id=485'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/barneymc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/TK-pike-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-485\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-485'>\n\t\t\t\tIn that weedy outlet from the lake, a hungry Pike grabbed a lure from my Father&#8217;s tackle box. I remember that lure at the top of his box since I was a kid. It is from his days in Wisconsin, before he became a family man in CA. It had not been in the water for at least 60 years.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/barneymc.com\/?attachment_id=487'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/barneymc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/TK-SpruceGrouse-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-487\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-487'>\n\t\t\t\tOn the way up the trail, I spotted this bird, a Spruce Grouse, I think.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After Carol flew back home, we went on to Tok.
