Running north-south between Jasper and Banff Nat Parks, the Icefield Parkway is a very popular route through some fantastic country. The day we drove it was cloudy and overcast, which obscured the upper peaks along the road. It was also a Sunday in late August, and it seemed 1/2 of Canada was there with us. Looking back at the pictures I took, I can see that I was not too excited about stopping. Here are the best ones I got this year.
A group of mountain sheep, a young male, lamb, and female.
A glacial river through the windshield.
Another view of a river along the Pkwy.
I love the mountains and glaciers.
This day was so crowded we did not fight the traffic at the visitor center as we did on a previous trip.
The glacier views are quite so good at the turnout a mile from the parking lots.
There is a new attraction, similar to the Grand Canyon, a plastic walkway over the edge.
This lake was incredibly blue and shiny on our last trip.
